Career Transition Coaching for High-Performers Who Want More

You’re smart, efficient, and highly-focused. Your career strategy should be too.

I help high-performers transition into positions and careers they love — whether that’s making the next step on a career trajectory you’re already excited about, finding a position that gives you the recognition, income, and flexibility you’ve been working for for so long, or shifting into a new type of role entirely.

Our work together centers around three goals:

— Awareness: We’ll create clarity around yourself, your value proposition, and how to job-transition effectively.

— Action: Our work together is active. We’ll test out theories, gain insights, and integrate as we go.

— Accountability: I’m with you every step of the way to help out with blocks, troubleshoot issues, and identify blind spots so you can actually get where you want to go.

Natalie Bybee

Who am I and why should you trust me with your career?

Hi, I’m Natalie Bybee, MBA, PCC, SPHR.

I’ve worked with leaders and leaders-in-waiting for a long time –– my first career was a senior Human Resources professional, where I spent 20 years supporting leadership in both entrepreneurial and well-established environments. I loved helping organizations establish or reinvent their culture and people processes, and in doing so, gained a unique perspective on the business environment and the frustrations created in today’s work cultures.

Since that time, I’ve transitioned into leadership consulting and career strategy. I now combine my expertise and experience from the business world with ICF-accredited coaching to help high-achieving mid to senior corporate leaders find or transition within careers that give them the fulfillment and rewards they’ve worked so hard to create.

How do I do it?

By using a combination of:

20+ years experience in HR

This gives me knowledge of the system from the inside out and a degree of experience you just won’t find in a standard “career coach”. Together, we’ll create an intentional, highly-focused career transition for you.

No more applying to the abyss. No more wondering if something is a good fit for you or not. Just crystal clarity about your superpowers, the kind of environment you thrive in, and the tactics you need to not only find the right job, but the right job for you.

If you’re job searching, I’ll teach you how to cut through the robo-resume red tape and stand out to hiring managers in the right way. If you’re working towards a promotion, we’ll focus on strategic relationship building that allows you to gain influence and thoughtfully leverage your relationships and position yourself as the obvious next choice for the job you want –– because you now know how to be recognized for all that hard work you’re doing.

And if you’re in the middle of a career transition, we’ll work together to put language around the felt sense you have about what you want from this next step, but can’t yet articulate, and then create a strategic plan for making that a reality.

My proprietary 4-step process, validated with 300+ people.

Our work together will focus both on mindset and skill set. We’ll pay just as much attention to how you’re approaching your goals and your ability to understand and present yourself as a brand as to the technical things like interview skills, negotiating compensation, and writing cover letters designed to attract hiring managers.

Rigorous, research-backed assessments and tools.

Our work together is highly customized, and we’ll start by identifying what tools and assessments you need so we can focus solely on those, and not waste your time with things you don’t actually need. Among the tools I commonly use are the DISC assessment, EQi, StrengthsFinder, and values assessments.

A commitment to working with you as a whole person, not just the part of you that shows up at work.

Because shockingly … you don’t become a completely different person when you walk out the door! If you want to show up as your best self in interviews, at work, or in your career transition, you have to address the most immediate stressors, whether that’s a personality clash with your boss, juggling your workload, or any other factors that might be jeopardizing your work-life harmony.

Details and logistics:

Every experience is bespoke (because frankly, you’re far too advanced for some cookie-cutter experience to be useful), but we’ll use this scaffolding in our work together:

— Step 1: Identifying your next perfect role

We’ll start out by discovering what type of role aligns to your strengths and skills, the right way to align with the next opportunity that fits where you want your career trajectory to go. We’ll create your custom career identity map so you can move forward with clarity and confidence … instead of just trying things out and hoping they get you where you want to go. (Or worse, leading you from one unsatisfying position to another!)

— Step 2: Develop your unique value proposition

We’ll then put all that together and work on creating and polishing your personal brand. We’ll cover things like executive presence, creating the appropriate look and feel in real life and online, and clarifying your elevator pitch. We’ll also work together to edit your resume and LinkedIn as needed, as well as your cover letter.

— Step 3: Connecting your way to your next perfect role: intentional networking

Networking is absolutely key to moving into a role you want –– and most people go about it completely wrong. Here you’ll learn how to avoid the ATS black hole and take advantage of the hidden job market, as well as how to thoughtfully expand your network and leverage your connections. We’ll also do some tactical work here on nailing the interview, doing appropriate follow-up, and creating your personal board of directors.

— Step 4: Getting out of your own way

Career transitions are stressful –– and your ability to manage that stress and any other points of struggle is going to determine your success. Here we’ll work on a plan to manage stress, fear, and other saboteurs that might be holding you back, as well as exploring your blind spots and setting you up for continued success as you execute your transition plan.

And of course, we’ll address any number of tactical elements along the way, depending on your needs. Things like …

  • Mastering the interview
  • Curating your references
  • Negotiating your salary
  • Creating your job onboarding plan
  • Organizing your network

By the time we’re done, you’ll have crystal-clarity about your next steps, a strategy that we’ve tried-and-tested to make sure it works for you, and the tactical skills you need to continue executing on that strategy.

The truth is, you deserve a job that lights you up. One that plays to the extent of your talents, and gives you the rewards you’ve worked so long for.

And I can help you get there.

I’d love to have a brief call with you to talk about how our work together could look, and answer any questions you might have.
